1963 ford thunderbird brake booster4/21/2024 ![]() ![]() The brake booster has no vacuum hoses attached, and I'd like to have them hooked up properly as well. The previous owner had installed this carb, and mentioned it wasn't hooked up.Ģ. The carburetor (Holley 4160, I believe) has a hot air choke, but it's not connected and I can't figure out how to hook it up. I'm most interested in sorting out two issues first:ġ. Having spent too many hours this past week reading every post I could find here, I'm confident that you guys can help me out. It finally arrived today, but after reading through the appropriate sections, I'm no closer to figuring out what's going on, so here I am. I ordered the shop manual a couple of days later and have been waiting anxiously for it so that I could sort out a couple of issues. Within hours a Service Form will be emailed to you with instructions on where to ship your part.So I bought my 1963 hardtop 9 days ago and joined Squarebirds 6 days ago. One way to switch your manual brakes to power brakes is to find a similar car with power brakes and remove all the brake-related parts to use on your vehicle. Many other factors are often involved such as vacuum fittings, brackets, and clearance problems. ![]() They are not intended for change-over from manual to power brakes, unless indicated. Power boosters and related parts are intended for replacement of defective units only. Push rod 2-7/8" to center of eye, twist lock type. No exceptions- customer MUST send their unit in to be rebuilt, as we have no cores available. If your master cylinder has a metal screw-on cover, it will be replaced with a plastic cover, so if you want to keep your original metal cover, do not send it in. Please remove all switches, fittings & attaching hardware before shipping. Send in your original booster & master cylinder assembly & we will disassemble, clean & replace any defective parts & bench test the unit for proper operation. Simply send it in and in approximately 3 to 4 weeks we will send back your professionally rebuilt unit.
